Learning how to stay positive is important to live a happy and fulfilled life. Staying positive is important and has the power to affect every area of your life and help you become the best version of yourself.
Positivity is being optimistic, expecting and believing for the best. In some life situations, there will be some things beyond your control and the only thing you can control is your reaction and response to the situation. Life comes with its ups and downs, when things get tough, positive thinking will help you live a happy life. Positive thinking has nothing to do with how much money you have, how much food you have or how perfect your life is, it is a choice to be optimistic and hope for the best.
Tips to stay Positive
Positive thinking is one of the keys to a successful life. Having a positive mindset gives room for growth and improvement. Positive thinking can help eliminate stress, avoid depression and ensure a happier life. Positive thinking is a choice and can be learned through constant practice. The tips I will be sharing are practical ways I use daily to maintain a positive mindset.
Be grateful always
There is always something to be thankful for! If when times are tough and everything looks bleak, there are things you have that most people do not have. I like to journal and I realize keeping a gratitude journal helps lift my mood. It may seem like you do not have anything good going on, but challenge yourself to find things to be thankful for. Count your blessings, it will make you feel better and attract more blessings.
Keep a Positive environment
Surround yourself with the right kind of people. Having positive people around you will courage you and help you when you need a pick me up. Surround yourself with good friends, that will lift you up and support you. Avoid negative people! They will pull you down and fill you with negativity.
Adopt a new mindset
Nobody has a perfect life! People have challenges and deal with negativity at some point. You have the power to change your mindset by training yourself to be positive. Speak some positive words to yourself. the Bible says the power of life and death is in the tongue. Use your words and thoughts wisely, Anytime a negative thought creeps into your mind, replace it with a positive one or with encouraging words from the Bible or podcast. The more you practice having positive thoughts, the less negative thoughts you have .
Exercise
Exercise release feel good chemicals called endorphins that improves your mood and make you feel better. They are tons of workout video, yoga on Youtube and they are free! Exercise has both physical and mental benefits. A quick stroll, run or walk around the park or neighborhood is a great way to boost your mood and get back on track.
Avoid worry.
Worrying does not change anything but causes heartache and destroy peace. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how dark it gets, dawn is coming. Philippians 4: 6-9 “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.”
Take Actions
Don’t focus on what you cannot change, find a way to improve the situation or to make things better and take steps to improve it. Taking a few steps to change a situation is better than wallowing in self pity, worrying and staying down.
Change is constant, embrace change and make the best of every situation. Strive for progress not perfection. Things do not have to be perfect for you to live a positive and fulfilling life, change your mindset and watch life become more colorful and meaningful.
