- Makeup Primer
Makeup primer is not necessary but it is recommended because it helps minimize the pores on the face and serves as a base for your foundation. There are various types of primers based on skin type. If you have dry skin, a hydrating primer like e.l.f hydrating primer. Milk of Magnesia can be used as a face primer, it shrinks the pores and gives a matte finish.

Concealer is thicker than foundation and it is used to hide dark spots. If you have dark circles, concealer can be used to hide and blend the skin. Concealer can also be used to create natural-looking brows, contour, and enhance your features. I always use a concealer a shade lighter than my foundation shade.
Blush adds color to your cheeks and should be used to give dimensions to your face. Apply your blush sparingly to create a defined, younger look. I like soft peach but a little pink also works great. Blush should be applied to the cheekbones and the natural contours of the face.
I use highlighter to enhance my facial features and to achieve a brighter look. Highlighter can be used to emphasize your eyes, cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, inner eyes, and cupid bow(lips).

A setting powder is used to set your foundation and finish your look. The setting powder soaks up excess oil, reduces shine, and gives an overall matte flawless look. A good setting powder is essential to seal the look.
